Visiting tips
Tips and advice to optimize your visit
Buy your tickets online: This is the most important tip. It guarantees you access at a fixed time and saves you hours of queuing at the ticket desks.
Opt for the stairs: If you're in good physical shape, taking the stairs up to the 2nd floor (674 steps) is a unique experience, less expensive and often with a significantly shorter wait.
Weekend days are the busiest, with the longest waiting times. If your schedule permits it, try to visit the Eiffel Tower on a Monday or Thursday to benefit from shorter waiting times. To avoid crowds, the best time to visit is at the opening of the tower between 9 and 11 a.m, since it has the lowest waiting times but a visit after 10 p.m. may also be a good option to avoid long queues.
A must-see
The Magical Twinkle: every evening, for the first 5 minutes of every hour, from dusk until 11pm, the Eiffel Tower twinkles with a thousand lights. It's a free and magnificent spectacle, not to be missed.
